Here are some quick tips to help start the year off on the right foot!
.) Meet the teacher within the first week of school! Stay informed about what is going on in your child's classroom...read the weekly email, and check the class Seesaw account frequently.
.) Attend the parent/teacher/student conference scheduled in October.
.) Volunteer in the classroom or join the PTO.
.) Ask questions when you don't understand something. The only silly question is the one not asked!
.) Demonstrate a positive attitude about education and distance learning.
.) Monitor TV, video game, and computer use.
.) Make sure your child gets 10-12 hours of sleep each night.
.) Encourage your child to read on a daily basis or read with them!
.) Talk to your child. Share your feelings, thoughts, and decision making process. This will teach them common sense and empathy for others.
.) Take your child to new places so that you can explore the world around you as a family.
.) Encourage your child to do their best.
.) Provide a quiet, clutter free area for them to work, free from distractions.
.) Praise your child's efforts, not the outcome. Encourage a growth mindset!
.) Have fun together!
