Eligibility

We would like every student in 8th grade to attend this important trip, but in order to protect the safety and well-being of all the students, we have established basic behavior standards, which parents and students agree to in the "Parent Essentials and Behavior Agreement" Form. This program is not mandatory and there are alternative academic activities for those that do not attend.

Paperwork must be turned in on time and complete to hold a spot on the trip.

Physical Ability and Health:

  • Students must be able to hike 5-7 miles every day of the trip, and not have any health problems that would interfere with their well-being under strenuous conditions.
  • If your child is currently excused from P.F. we will be asking you to obtain a clearance from your doctor before your child can attend.
  • If your child is ill and absent from school on the Thursday or Friday before the trip, we will take their temperature prior to boarding the bus. Students who have been sick prior to the trip must be fever free with no symptoms for 24 hours. Please do not administer medicine to bring fever down on the morning of the trip. Students who are sick on Sunday may join us mid-week once they are healthy.
  • Students who are unable to make the trip at the last minute due to illness may be able to attend the trip with another school during March, space permitting. Contact Todd Butler and Amanda Clark if this applies to your child.
