I have nothing but positive memories from when I was in school. Learning was always fun, and I looked forward to school everyday. This positive experience helped me to decide to become a teacher. I want to help students achieve the same love of learning that I developed.
After high school I attended the University of California at Santa Cruz. My plans were to become a high school or college history teacher. While working in a summer camp, however, I discovered that I enjoyed teaching younger students. After earning my Bachelor's Degree in U.S. History, I attended Saint Mary's College and earned a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
I have taught 5th - 8th grade, with 6th grade being my favorite. I hope my interest and excitement in language arts and history will help my students become better readers, writers, and critical thinkers.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife and two kids. I also enjoy hiking, backpacking, gardening, watching sports, and traveling.
There is no better job than teaching, and I look forward to many more years of working with kids.
