As you navigate your path beyond high school, exploring military options can open doors to exciting opportunities. To begin your exploration journey, check out the resources on our school website or visit military careers.gov. Remember, understanding your options is the first step towards making informed decisions about your future. Whether you're considering enlisting, pursuing a military career after college, or exploring military academies, the military can offer valuable experiences, training, and a sense of purpose.
Visit Recruitment Offices or Visit Recruiters that come to CHS
Schedule visits to military recruitment offices. Meeting with recruiters allows you to ask specific questions, learn about eligibility criteria, and get a sense of the commitment required. CHS hosts recruiters from all military branches through out the year. Check the google classroom or contact your counselor for details.
Attend Military Career Fairs:
Look out for local or virtual military career fairs. These events bring together representatives from various military branches and academies, offering you the chance to interact directly, ask questions, and explore potential career paths.
Speak to Military Personnel:
If possible, connect with current or former military personnel. Their firsthand experiences can provide valuable insights into military life, training, and the challenges and rewards of serving.
Research Online:
Explore military websites to gather comprehensive information about the different branches and academies. Each option offers unique opportunities, and researching online can help you understand the requirements and benefits associated with each. They are listed below.
Click on any of the following branches and be taken to their website to learn more about that particular military branch.

Sign up for the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) test
Speak to your counselor about signing up. We offer it at CHS usually at the end of November each year. If you miss that date you will need to take the test at MEPS in St. Louis. To schedule this you will need to talk to a recruiter.
To prepare for the ASVAB test click the websites to the left and they have practice tests and career information. This is a great tool to help you prepare.
