Nut Free Classrooms & Allergies

We have students with severe, life-threatening allergies to peanuts and tree nuts. A few crumbs or drops of a substance can trigger an allergic reaction.  Please read labels on products.

Not permitted in classrooms:

Questions and Answers:

Q: Can my child eat any peanut butter at school?

A: Yes! Students may consume peanut/tree nut products in the cafeteria at a designated table.

Q: My child has severe allergic reactions, how do I ensure there is no accidental exposure at the lunch table?

A: There is an designated allergy table for students with severe reactions. Please inform me if your child needs to sit at this table.

Q: My child needs an EpiPen at school. What is the process?

A: Have your provider complete and sign the allergy form (see below). Parent/guardian signatures are required on both pages. Bring the forms and a labelled, unexpired EpiPen to school. Ideally, keep it in the box from the pharmacy.

Q: Do I need to send in Benadryl to school?

A: No, we have generic Benadryl (diphenhydramine) in the nurse's office if needed.
