Illness Guidelines

You can help us stop spreading germs!

Germs travel quickly in the school environment. Illness hinders students' learning and staff's ability to teach. Please review the following parameters.

A student MAY NOT come to school with:

A temperature of 100.4 or greater. Must be fever free for 24 hours (without medication) before returning to school. If sent home with a fever, student may not return the next day.

Vomiting or diarrhea. If your child has either of these, two or more times in 24 hours, they may NOT come to school the following day, even if they feel better.

Strep throat and conjunctivitis (pink eye) require 24 hours of antibiotic treatment prior to returning to school.

New skin rashes. Warrant provider evaluation before coming to school.

Questions and Answers:

Q: My child vomited last night, but feels better this morning. Can they come to school?

A: If vomiting or diarrhea occurred twice within the last 24 hours, they may not come to school.

Q: If I medicate my child, can I send them to school with a fever?

A: NO. The illness spreads through the classroom and we see the students at the nurse during lunch time when the medicine wears off. They will be sent home. Your child must be fever free (without medication) for 24 hours.
