**Covid Guidelines have been updated by the RIDOH. You no longer need to isolate for five days if you are COVID positive.
Germs can spread quickly in a school setting, and when children are not feeling well, it can make learning and teaching much more difficult. To help keep all students and staff healthy, please review the guidelines below.
Please keep your child home if they are experiencing any of the following:
Fever: A temperature of 100.4°F or higher. Children must be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to school. If your child is sent home with a fever, they will need to stay home the following day. This will be counted as an excused medical absence.
Vomiting or diarrhea: If your child has vomited or had diarrhea two or more times within a 24-hour period, they should remain home the next day, even if they seem to be feeling better. If your child has vomited or had diarrhea once within a 24-hour period, they may return to school the following day only if they have no other symptoms and have resumed a normal diet.
Strep throat or conjunctivitis (pink eye): Children may return to school after they have been on antibiotics for at least 24 hours.
Excessive coughing or heavy nasal congestion that interferes with daily learning: Frequent or excessive coughing or runny noses can spread germs easily, especially among younger students who are still learning how to cover coughs and sneezes. Children also tend to have a harder time focusing when they don’t feel well.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep our school community healthy. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the health office with any questions or concerns.
