Cumberland County Schools will adhere to the "Healthy at Sports" guidance released by the Kentucky High School Athletic Association.
Upon arrival, guests will have a temperature check at the door, review a Covid-19 symptom checklist, and provide their name and phone number for contact tracing purposes.
All athletic participants--including players and staff--will be re-screened before each practice and/or competition.
The current protocol permits accepting a temperature of 100.4 or less. In the event a person does not meet the temperature threshold or exhibits current known symptoms of COVID-19, that individual shall not be admitted to the facility.
Tickets will be sold at the door and social distance protocols will be followed. Six feet floor markings will be provided, and anyone entering must wear a face covering at all times.
Every student or child must be accompanied by an adult for supervision purposes.
A maximum of 50% seating capacity will be admitted providing six feet distancing can be maintained.
At the conclusion of the event, spectators are to leave the venue as quickly as possible to prevent gatherings.
Spectators will practice social distancing of at least six feet. Every other row of bleachers will not be used.
Face coverings are required.
Families are encouraged to sit together and children should remain seated with their family.
Chair back seating will be limited.
Chairs for athletes and coaches will be spaced for social distancing.
Players on the bench will wear a face covering.
Coaches will wear face coverings.
Benches will be disinfected between games.
Athletes will not share water bottles but will bring their own. Use of disposable paper cups may also be used.
Athletes will not participate in handshakes, high-five, fist bumps, or any other sort of congratulatory touching.
Volleyball will not switch sides between sets.
Sideline cheerleaders will be spaced for social distancing and will wear face coverings when feasible.
The only people allowed at the scorer's table is the clock keeper, official scorer, and libero tracker. Each official will wear a face covering.
Game balls will be sanitized between sets/quarters.
Flags will be sanitized between levels of play.
Facilities, including locker rooms, will be sanitized before and after completion of play.
Regular cleaning and sanitizing of restroom facilities will be conducted and social distancing of restrooms for lines of individuals will be maintained with floor markers.
Workers will wear face coverings and gloves.
Condiments will be served as single packets.
There will be no self-serve type concessions. All food will be served wrapped or packaged.
Social distancing while in line for concessions will be maintained with floor markers.
All state/local food safety requirements will be followed including proper hand hygiene.
Pep band members will be spaced for social distancing in their designated area away from guests and players.
Face coverings will be worn when feasible.
Transportation to away games will require face coverings for all students and staff.
Seating charts and attendance records will be maintained for contact tracing.
Social distance will be used on buses to the greatest extent possible.
Buses will be sanitized before and after usage to away games.
Hand sanitizer will be available on buses.
Windows will be kept open as much as possible to allow for extra ventilation.
If a student, coach, or official is or becomes sick on-site with symptoms of COVID-19, they will be placed in the school's designated quarantine area located inside the nurse's station. The individual must wear a face covering until they can be picked up. A sick individual may not use group transportation to return home.
If an ambulance is called, the administrator on duty will contact the hospital in advance to alert them that the person may have COVID-19.
The local health department will be contacted by the administrator on duty for further direction in the event of someone testing positive for COVID-19. The school will initiate its communication plan.
Individuals who test positive shall follow the specific protocol established by the local health department, which includes protocols for those exposed to the individual with the positive test and involves full cooperation with contact tracing.
