We all are busy, but we all know that we make time for what’s important to us. Scouting isn’t like soccer or baseball where we’re on the sidelines cheering our sons on. Cub Scouting is hands on. Whether you’re helping them learn how to tie knots or showing them how to use a hammer or teaching them how to cook their own breakfast, parents will definitely need to be involved. As a parent of a Cub Scout, you will get to interact with their boys in a way you wouldn’t otherwise.
Cub Scouting is more than an activity for the scouts, it is an event for the whole family! Our pack is run by parents just like you, and we need every family to participate in order to continue making this Pack successful. We expect each family to volunteer in some way during the year. In this section you will find a few specific ways in which you can volunteer with the Pack and make the scouting experience with your son more memorable.
Cub Scouting allows parents to impart life skills in a fun, adventure-focused program. In this way, Scouting fills both the parents’ need to prepare their sons for life and the Cub Scouts’ desires to have fun and structured play. Additionally, the program allows parents to draw from other adult leaders’ skill sets, imparting more insights than one parent could convey alone.
