Objective:
To train students in organization skills, money management, time management, communication, setting goals, delegation, working under pressure, self–motivation, analytical thinking, attention to detail etc.
Report:
Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women organized the Cultural program - Chainika on August 18, 2023, for which the Life skills cell was allotted with registration work. Around 50 volunteers took part. A total of 12 events were conducted, 7 on-stage events, and 5 off-stage events. Both On-stage and Off-stage events' registration was conducted in the lounge. For each event, three volunteers were allotted. Each student in the team was allotted with different work like writing, taking photographs, distributing tokens, collecting money, making photocopies and giving it to the announcement desk and certificate writing desk. The colourful tokens were prepared for the participants and also for life skill cell volunteers. The registration work began at 8:30 am. Around 42 colleges participated from in and around Chennai. The entry fee amount per event was Rs. 50. Total amount collected by the LSC team was Rs.82, 320.
Outcome:
Through the registration work, the students learned skills like Leadership, Teamwork, Coordination, Critical thinking, money management, problem-solving, etc.

Name of the Event : Onam Selfie Stand Decoration
Nature of the Event : CELEBRATION

Objective: To bring awareness regarding our Indian culture.
Report :
Onam the harvest festival of India was celebrated in our college campus on 31st August 2023 by the staff and students. The life skills cell was allotted the decorating of the selfie stand with the Onam theme. The stand was decorated with colourful flowers and paperwork. It was a memorable day for the students.
Outcome:
Students from different departments united, participated and enjoyed the Onam celebration.

Methodology: Creativity in Tribute to Gandhi

Objective:
To enhance creativity and spontaneous thinking among the students.
Report:
This competition was conducted on 04/10/2023 via online mode. The students were asked to bring their pencil sketching on the topic “TRIBUTE TO GANDHI”. The judge of the event was Dr.Malarvizhi, Department of Commerce.
The results of the students were very distinct and winners were chosen according to their creativity and unique thinking. The rules and regulations and the mode of judgment were mentioned in the invitation.
Outcome:
This competition has enlightened the thinking of the students. Students learned to appreciate the art of the co-participants and move on to become better and stronger artists.

Objective: He Who Feeds A Hungry Animal Feeds His Soul
Report:
The members of Life Skills Cell conducted a drive for feeding the strays which are in and around their surroundings. The students actively participated and fed many strays.
The students fed many strays such as street dogs, cats, cows, doves etc. Thus it is a step for building a sound ecosystem where every being interacts with each other.

Name of the Event: Feed the Poor
Date :08/02/2024 & 09/02/2024
Timing: After 2.30 p.m
Objective:
The object of this drive was to feed the homeless & poor senior citizens who were suffering from starvation.
To ensure every person is fed and able to eat.
Report:
The Life Skills Cell organized a drive to feed the poor on 08/02/2024 & 09/20/2024. Around 20 students from the various departments participated in this drive. The students collected the money and distributed food packets (Brinji, Tea, Bun, and Biscuits packets) and toys (for poor kids).
Donating to the needy is a great way to improve the conditions in our community. The meal donation program is for around 25-year-old age people in the slums of Ayanavaram, Perambur, Kodungaiyur, Vysarpadi, Mint, and Moolakadai. Students learned that donating food to underprivileged people helps counter poverty and hunger and at the same time, it can improve harmony, friendliness, and trust.
Outcome:
This activity brought happiness, unity, sympathy and a sense of empathy among the students.
