The Department of Hindi organizes a seminar on AMRITAM JALAM ABHIYAAN (SAVE WATER CAMPAIGN) on 1 July 2019, at 2.30 p.m in Seminar Hall. On this occasion, Mr. Ashok Singh Raj Purohit, Senior Sub Editor, Rajasthan Patrika was the Chief Guest. He has thrown light on the importance Of water & its usefulness in our day-to-day life. He spoke that water is a basic need for all the creatures of the Planet.
Department of Hindi had organized a one Day State Level Workshop on 10 July 2019. On this Occasion Dr. P. Nazeem Begum, Associate Professor, Dakshin Bharat Hindi PracharSabha was the Chief Guest. She had reflected on the various aspects and importance of the Hindi Language in our day-to-day life in order to improve the vocabulary & command of the language. She thought about the ucharan of ‘swar‘ & ‘vyanjan’ & also the usage of ‘matras’. She also delivered a few self-written Poetic lines on women, ' Betia’. It was a good Interactive session.
The Association of the Department of Hindi has organized Munshi Premchand Diwas. Dr.SAYYAD ARIFULLA, Professor, Department of Hindi had reflected on the importance of MunshiPremchand& his contributions towards Hindi Literature. He also spoke about the obstacles faced by the Indian Society like dahej pratha, bal vivah, sati pratha, kisan samasya, vaishya vritti etc in the beginning of 19th century. He also spoke about the founder of Aryasamaaj reformer Rajaram Mohan Roy ,& his influence over his life. He also highlighted the important novels like GODHAAN, SEVASADAN, NIRMALA, KARMBHOOMI, PREMASHRAM & listed the important stories like ‘KAFAN’ & ‘PANCHMARMESHWAR’ & also spoke about his three dramas namely KARBALA, PREM KI VEDI etc. He also spoke that he wrote more than 300 short stories.
On this occasion, our benevolent Vice Principal Dr. Mrs. Meenakshi had shared her views about the importance of the Hindi language & culture & also shared her experiences during the 1990s when she was posted to Uttar Pradesh during her early marriage period. & conveyed the students to teach the Hindi to other Non-Hindi speakers as a part of service & conveyed her best wishes to Dr. A. ThasleemBanu, Assistant Professor.
The Department of Hindi had celebrated Hindi Association ‘Swarna – Sthambh’- 2019 on 11/02/2020. Dr. Manoj, Chief Guest Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh had delivered his address on ‘ Hindi Language & Literature from the perspective of novels.’
He has thrown the light on the development of novels under different periods ‘purva premchand yug’ ‘premchand yug’ & 'premchandottaryug’. He spoke about the famous novel ‘ chandrakanta’ that is filled with fantasies & imaginations. He also spoke about the famous Novel ‘ Nirmala’ , seva sadan’, Godhan’ etc during the Premchand period. He also discussed the current authors who are writing novels with current scenarios through media & network. After the Chief Guest address Prize distribution ceremony was held. Department of Hindi had conducted various inter-departmental competitions.
Department of Languages had organized valedictory Day on 04-03-2020. On this day Dr. HanifaGhosh, Principal of Chevalier T.Thomas Elizabeth College For Women was the Chief Guest for the day. She was facilitated by Dr. Preetha, Head, Department of Languages. She had shared her 40 years of total experiences in the teaching field and her precious renowned services towards the Institution .she cherished her memories related to Fathima College where she rendered her first 6 years of service. She also threw the light on women Empowerment.
