Report:
Indian writing in English has been shaped by the encounter with colonialism. However, the impact of Indian literatures cannot be denied. The works challenge the Western concept of historical narrative to create a post-colonial national narrative, focusing on the representation of all strata of the society in India and its problems. It is a juncture where the historical, political, and social discourses form a cross-cultural dialogue.
The Tribal communities had their repositories of knowledge in the form of oral songs and stories. Since the last century, the oral form is being replaced by serious literary writings. Writers have consistently been the voices depicting the struggles of the marginalized tribals, activating the conscience of the general public like Susheela Samad, Alice Ekka and Mahaswetha Devi. Translations carry the message from the regional language texts of India to the readers all over the world, thereby generating discussion at a global level. Films are equally adept at expressing the same themes with the added advantage of being communicated aurally and visually with mass appeal.
Recent events have redirected our attention to the importance of native way of life and a paradigm shift seems to be occurring making it the right time to re-examine the buried treasure trove of indigenous knowledge. The Conference aims to create awareness among the younger generation and provide them with a platform to generate discussion on the emergence of indigenous literature which focuses on survival, endurance, and transformation of the tribals. The question of whether technology has strengthened, replaced or altered their way of life, giving rise to new problems in its stead, is also a point for discussion.
India as it stands at 75 years of independence, has evolved to have a President from an indigenous tribe and to recognize the indigenous musical talents in Nanjiamma and the sports talent from the Meitei clan in Saikhom Mirabai Chanu and much more.

Dr. Hemachandran Karah articulated on Disability Studies introduced the term “neurodiversity” and describe the 'demands' of persons with learning disabilities.
The participants took away ample knowledge on what LD is and how to tackle it in the classroom. It is essential to have an emotional connection with the SLD students. As Dr Karah rightly pointed out, this is the age of choices and hence every child with SLD has different demands and so SLD assessments cannot be homogenous for all students. Listening is an important aspect of communication and SLD students should have every opportunity to be heard. As their self-esteem gets low, the teachers should often give words of affirmation to such students that motivates them to do better. The SLD did not stop Mozart, Einstein, Bill Gates and more from becoming world-renowned people in their respective fields. The participants learned that they should empower the imagination of the SLD students and encourage them to pursue anything they aspire.
