On 25.2.2021 in the premises of CHEVALIER T THOMAS ELIZABETH COLLEGE FOR WOMEN with the right safety measures, an awareness seminar program was conducted on the topic 'swachh bharat related covid-19 presented by the citizen consumer club in association with Bureau of Indian Standards in the mere presence of Mr. H. Ajay khanna (deputy director of marketing and consumer affairs, Bureau of Indian standards). Where the gathering was warmly welcomed by Dr. Valli (Assistant Professor and faculty coordinator of citizen consumer club). And a moment was presented to the chief guest by the Vice Principal Dr. R.Meenakshi, as a gesture of respect. The seminar also took place with the presence of Mrs. Nirmala (General Secretary of Tami Nadu Consumer movement) and officials of the Bureau of Indian Standards. The chief guest shared various ideas on how to keep our country clean by knowing how to be able to differentiate between different kinds of waste products and also how to be hygienic during this pandemic of covid - 19. More than 50 are benefited.
The Citizen Consumer Club (CCC) of C.T.T.E College for Women in association with the Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, and FEDCOT India organised a webinar on ‘Consumer Rights’ on January 23, 2021 from 3 p.m - 4.00 p.m via Google Meet. The session began with a prayer song followed by the welcome address by Dr. J. Valli, Faculty Coordinator, CCC. Dr. S. Sridevi Principal, Chevalier T. Thomas Elizabeth College for Women, addressed the gathering and gave an informative presentation on the history of consumerism. She further encouraged the students to research more about consumer rights and laws. Mrs. Nagammal, Deputy Commissioner City (North), Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, Government of Tamilnadu, and Mrs. Ragini Ravichandran From CS & CP Dept, were the guest speakers for the event. On account of NCRD, EssayWriting and Poster Painting competitions were also conducted. More than 50 Students from the college actively participated in the competitions. The winners were given certificates of appreciation. The guest speakers Mrs. Nagammal and Mrs. Ragini Ravichandran made a special mention of the efforts taken by the department in celebrating National Consumer Rights Day.

Citizen Consumer Club (CCC) of CT.T.E College for Women in association with UN75, Citizen Consumer&Civic Action Group (CAG) and Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL) organised a UN75 dialogue on ‘Sustainable Development Goals – Affordable & Clean Energy’ on October 22nd, 2020 from 3-4 p.m via Zoom. More than 120 students participated in the programme. The speakers of the programme were Mr. Niraj Bhatt, a researcher in environment and climate change in Citizen Consumer&Civic Action Group (CAG) and Ms. Vishvaja Sampath, a research coordinator and campaigner.

The session began with an introductory speech about the significance of the webinar. Both the speakers shed light on the topics of Climate change, the Rise in Global Temperature, and India’s coal consumption. The session ended with a message of hope and a pledge to take positive climate actions by all individuals. The participants were given international participation certificates.
Citizen Consumer Club (CCC) of C.T.T.E College for Women in Collaboration with Fedcot India organised a webinar on ‘World Standard Day’ on 14th October 2020 through Zoom Meet. Mr. Chozha Naachhiar Rajasekar, President, The Tamil Chamber of Commerce, was the guest speaker of the event. 95 students participated in the session. Dr. J.Valli, faculty coordinator welcomed the gathering. In the highly useful session, Mr. Rajasekar talked about the importance of the standard, quality level and grade of various goods. Citizen Consumer Club student coordinator Ms. Shalini of III B. Com General proposed the vote of thanks.
The ‘World Food day’ was celebrated all around the world on 16th, October 2020. On account of the celebration, our college club conducted an e- quiz on the same topic. There were a number of 25 questions asked in the e-Quiz. The link was accessed on 16th, October 2020 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. There were 419 students from our college and Various Colleges in Chennai have attended the e-quiz and they received e-certificate to their registered e-mail.
The Citizen Consumer Club (CCC) of C.T.T.E college organized an International Webinar on ‘Corona Vaccine Development – Current Status’. The webinar was held on July 29, 2020. The Resource Person Mr. Anbu Jaya, Scientific Affairs Director(Retd.), Pfizer Pharma, Australia insisted on the importance of abiding by the basic protective measures against the Covid 19. He gave a deep insight about the immunological mechanism of vaccination, vaccine development, testing and approval process. He further announced that the vaccine will likely be available by the end of the year 2020. 250 students and faculty members from several colleges attended the webinar. The session was highly informative.

The purpose of the forum was explained to the first year students in the classes by the faculty members of the Citizen Consumer Club. The membership was conducted through the Google form. Club members were integrated into the investigative committee for the Consumer Forum. Near 60 Students from various departments have joined the club.
