Report:

A fast and efficient recruitment process can reduce costs, enhance a company’s reputation both from a market and candidate perspective and ensure that the very best talent is identified, engaged and brought into the business. One of the top Information Technology companies Infosys, TCS which is also the biggest recruiter of graduates through campus recruitment introduced a method that fundamentally changed the way of hiring through the Smart Hiring Program for various roles. The Smart Hiring Process is where a company recruits fresh graduates of a particular academic year directly through the company’s online recruitment portal by deviating from the regular campus interview process. Infosys Smart Hiring Program invited applications from freshers of the year passing 2023. This involves a series of application registration processes which in turn require clear technical knowledge to enhance the ease of registration by final-year students who are in the process of their job hunt. Hence the Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the College planned to organise a “Career Guidance Programme towards Smart Hiring Process. The Primary objective of the Career Guidance Programme towards the Smart Hiring Process is to orient the interested final-year students about the technical know-how of the Smart Hiring Process of TCS and other top companies which plan to go for smart hiring in future.

The Secondary Objectives of the Career Guidance Programme are

• to educate students on different apps and websites which support Smart hiring application registration completion

• to provide hands-on training to fill out the application form and to facilitate the registration process

• to prepare students technically for all smart hiring processes in future.

The Programme was organised for Students of all the streams on July 10, 2023, in T.Thomas Auditorium between 1.00-2.00 pm. The Programme started with an Introduction to the Smart Hiring Process by Dr. Sudha Srikanth, Placement Officer and Soft skill trainer of C.T.T.E College. She elaborated on what is smart hiring process all about and how it is important for students to know about the technical nuances of submitting each and every information of the applicant asked in the smart hiring online registration portal of the company carefully to avoid ambiguity. This was followed by a Hands-on demonstration of the Smart Hiring Process by Ms Hemavathy, Content Manager & Digital Marketing Lead, C.T.T.E College. The resource Person Ms. Hemavathy used one Student's email id and personal details for the presentation and filled the same in the Next Step registration portal of TCS, simultaneously students who wanted to register for the job opening tried to register in this portal as per the instructions given. She demonstrated all the stages of the registration process in the portal. She also explained other useful applications which are necessary for completing smart hiring job applications like:

• CANVA for resizing the photo as per the size asked in the application portal 

• To convert Word to pdf file using the “Ilovepdf” website and to compress CV using “Compress pdf” 

• To remove the background of the image use remove bg.com

Outcomes

• Prepared the students for all smart hiring registering processes in future

• Students were made aware of different applications to fill out the CV

Date and Duration: July 18, 2023 at T.Thomas Auditorium between 1.30 pm - 2.30 pm

Methodology: Interactive lecture Demonstration. 

Resource person: Mr Sai Krishnan K N, Manager, Santa Monica Study Abroad Pvt  Ltd, Chennai. 

No. of Participants: Students from commerce, science, Arts, and Humanities streams participated in the program and benefited. 

Report: 

Students who intend to travel overseas for education often struggle with the process of finding the Best Universities and applying to such Universities, to obtain Financing and understand the regulations of other countries. Hence  the Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the College organized a “Career  Guidance Programme on Overseas Education”

The Primary objective of the Guest lecture on Overseas Education is to promote and provide awareness on Overseas Education. 

The Secondary objectives of the Guest lecture are 

• To enable students to understand various sources of finance for overseas education. 

• To educate students on the pay they get abroad. 

• To create awareness among students that any student can get an overseas education. 

• To provide knowledge to students on various programs and courses offered by various nations of the world. 

•  To create awareness on how to apply for higher education abroad. 

The Programme was organized for the Commerce, Arts, Science, and Humanities stream of students on July 18, 2023, at T.Thomas Auditorium between 1:30 pm-2:30 pm. The Guest speaker Mr.Sai Krishnan K N, Manager, Santa Monica Study Abroad Pvt Lmt,  Chennai held an Interactive lecture Demonstration on Overseas Education. The  Resource person explained why overseas Education is important for students, and spoke about the Benefits of studying abroad, Academic benefits, and personal benefits that students obtain from Overseas Education. He explained the Myth that prevails in the minds of people when it comes to overseas education but he made us understand the fact which exists in overseas education. A detailed comparison of higher education was made between different countries such as the UK, Canada, Germany and some other Countries which was further explained as the Duration of programs in various countries, who can apply for courses in various countries, source of finance, types of Educational system in various countries, Job Industry,  Average salary for various jobs in various countries and he also explained how much a student can earn part time and full time when he/she goes to abroad. 

Outcome: 

Students got exposure to a diverse range of programs in various countries. Students came to know the various sources of financing for overseas education.

OBJECTIVES: 

 The Primary objective of the Guest lecture on overseas Education is to promote and provide awareness of overseas Education. 

The Secondary objectives of the Guest lecture are 

• To enable students to understand various sources of finance for overseas education. 

• To create awareness among students that any student can get an overseas education. 

• To create awareness on how to apply for higher education abroad 

• To provide knowledge to two students on various programs and courses offered by various nations of the world.

The program was organized for the Commerce, arts, science, and Humanities stream of students on September  12, 2023, at the Thomas Auditorium between 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mr. Sai  Krishnan KN, Manager, Santa Monica Study Abroad Private Limited Chennai, the resource person, explained why overseas education is important for students and spoke about the benefits of studying abroad, Academic benefits, and personal benefits that students obtain from overseas education. He explained the myth that prevails in the minds of people when it comes to overseas education but he made us understand the facts which exist in overseas education. Objectives:  

• The Primary objective of the Guest lecture on personal grooming is to promote and provide the importance of personal grooming. 

• Secondary objective was to teach the students about the importance of personal hygiene and personal grooming.  

The program was organized for the Commerce, arts, science, and Humanities stream of students on  September 12, 2023, at T. THOMAS AUDITORIUM between 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm. The program was an interactive lecture demonstration on personal grooming by Mrs. Alphonse Leena. The resource person explained why Personal Grooming is important and spoke about the benefits of Personal Grooming and she also explained the career benefits and personal benefits that a student obtains by personal grooming.

OUTCOMES:  

Students learned

• To have a refined professional Image. 

• To be conscious about Body Language. 

• To master nonverbal cues. 

• To deal professionally with people with confidence

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. Chartered Accountancy is a professional practice of accounting, auditing, taxation and financial assessment for an individual or an organization. Students pursue this course due to better quality, higher scope, Global exposure and opportunities that inevitably contribute to a better quality of life. Hence the Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the College planned to organize a ‘Career Guidance Programme on Global Chartered Accountancy Course’

The Programme was organized on March 19, 2024, at JJK Auditorium between 1:30 pm-2:30 pm. The session commenced with an overview of the Global Chartered Accountancy Course, emphasizing its international recognition and the diverse range of industries it serves. Resource Person provided detailed information regarding the educational prerequisites and the rigorous examination process involved in obtaining chartered accountancy certification on a global scale. The resource person elaborated on the importance of continuous professional development. The Students gained insights into the wide array of career opportunities available to chartered accountants, including roles in auditing, taxation, consulting, and financial management. The resource person discussed current industry trends, including the impact of digitalization and regulatory changes on the accounting profession. Case studies and real-world examples were shared to provide practical insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by chartered accountants. A lively question and answer session followed, during which students had the opportunity to seek clarification on various aspects of the Global Chartered Accountancy Course and its implications for their career paths.

Objectives 

The Primary objective of this Programme was to provide comprehensive career guidance on pursuing the Global Chartered Accountancy Course, offering insights into the requirements, opportunities, and challenges associated with the profession.

The Secondary objectives of the Programme were

• To provide the students with clear knowledge about chartered accountancy.

• To educate the students with detailed information about the impact chartered accountants have on the economy.

• To provide the educational prerequisites and the examination process involved in becoming a certified chartered accountant.

Outcome

• The speaker discussed educational prerequisites and qualifications and elaborated on the importance and growth of the profession which benefitted the students.

• Students were exposed to various subjects that they could pursue in higher education.

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) program serves as the gateway for aspiring teachers, offering them the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to thrive in the dynamic field of education. A comprehensive orientation program is essential to guide students through the intricacies of the B.Ed. curriculum, familiarize them with the resources available, and foster a sense of belonging within the educational community. Hence the Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the College planned to organize an “Orientation on B.Ed. program”.

Objectives:

• To provide an Overview of the B.Ed. Curriculum, course requirements, and academic expectations.

• To familiarize students with campus facilities, support services, and resources available for academic and personal development.

Outcomes

• Participants gained a Comprehensive understanding of the B.Ed. program structure, curriculum, and academic expectations.

• Students were equipped with essential information to navigate their academic journey effectively.

• The Orientation program encouraged active participation and engagement from attendees.
