Career Guidance Cell in Association with IQAC, CFSD-EDC, IIC& Department of Business Administration of C.T.T.E College for Women, Organised a Webinar on Start Up: Legal & Ethical Guidelines on February 28, 2022 through the Online Platform. The entire programme was live-streamed on the YouTube Platform. Dr.C.Anita Fabiyola, Assistant Professor, Dr.Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai was the resource person. She gave a deep insight on Start Up Initiatives proposed by the Government of India for Registration/Incorporation of a Start Up, Agreement Pertaining to Start Up and Licences required for a Start Up. She also highlighted the Infrastructure related to Zonal Laws, Non-Disclosure Agreement and Laws Pertaining to the Advertisement of a Start Up. The Resource Person also gave an Overview on Intellectual Property Rights, Trade Mark, Indian Patent Act. She Made the session Interactive by quoting a few examples of successful Startup Businesses.

Report:

Graphic designing is a marketing tool that adds value to many workplaces and it can be a fulfilling career for the people who are creative thinkers who enjoy art, technology and communication. To explore the Career opportunities available in Graphic designing, Career Guidance & Placement cell in collaboration with Centre for Student Development-Entrepreneurship Development Cell & Institution’s Innovation Council Organised a session on Career Possibilities in Graphics Designing”. Ms.C.Hemavathy, Content Manager and Digital Marketing Lead, CTTE College for Women was the resource person for the session. The resource person is a Google Certified Educator and has completed 6 Google certification on Digital Marketing she highlighted on the Basic Elements of graphic Designing, Graphic illustration and Marketing & Advertising Design in an understandable way. She also emphasised the Importance of Graphics Designing in the 21st century to students stressing the career opportunities available for a Graphics Designer professional. The Resource Person designed a sample website using Canva App and provided the Free online certificate course links for the benefits to the students and encouraged them to join and enhance their skills and qualifications required for a Designer.

CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAMME TOWARDS BECOMING A DATA SCIENCE PROFESSIONAL

The Career Guidance & Placement Cell in collaboration with Centre for Student Development-Entrepreneurship Development Cell & Institution’s Innovation Council organised a session on “Career Guidance Program Towards Becoming a Data Science Professional” to all interested final year students on March 28, 2022 through Gmeet & YouTube Live Stream. The resource person for the session was Ms.D. Adela Evangeline, Head, Analytics & Software Development, NIIT Technologies.

Key Highlights:

  • The resource person gave a brief explanation of Data Science, Big Data and Data Analytics.

  • Stressing on the importance of data in the 21st century, she highighted the importance of analysing the huge amount generated everyday in the financial year to arrive at a decision.

  • She also emphasised Machine Learning in Big Data Analytics.

  • Mrs. Adela also stated that even non-IT students can also excel in this field of Data Science & Big Data Analytics

CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAMME TOWARDS SMART HIRING PROCESS

  • to orient the interested final year students about the technical know-how of the Smart Hiring Process of TCS and other top companies which plan to go for smart hiring in future

  • to educate students on different apps and websites which supports in Smart Hiring application registration completion

  • to provide hands on training to fill the application form and to facilitate registration process

  • to prepare students technically for all Smart Hiring process in future

Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the College organised four batches of “Career Guidance Programme towards Smart Hiring Process” wherein Ms. Hemavathy, Content Manager & Digital Marketing Lead, C.T.T.E College was the resource person. The Programme was organised in different batches for interested students belonging to Science, Humanities, Commerce & Management Stream. As many students requested for the same programme, Batch V of “Career Guidance Programme towards Smart Hiring Process” was organised on December 6, 2021 and Ms. Sheerin Jabeen of III B.C.A, Placement Coordinator was the resource person. As Ms.Shareen Jabeen had already completed her smart Hiring process from registration till Interview with TCS she was able to provide hands-on experience very clearly for the students who wanted to apply for smart hiring process in future.

The Programme started with an Introduction on Smart Hiring Process by Dr. Sudha Srikanth, Placement Officer and Soft skill trainer of C.T.T.E College.

The program ended with a small Q and A session and the students were instructed to reach out to their respective placement coordinators to clarify doubts during their registration process. Around 86 students from different departments attended the programme and benefitted.

EXPLORE YOUR CAREER IN COSMETOLOGY

The Career Guidance & Placement cell in collaboration with the Centre for Student Development-Entrepreneurship Development Cell & Institution’s Innovation Council organised a career guidance session on “Explore your career in Cosmetology” to all the interested final year students on, November 22, 2021 from 4.00 pm to 5.00 pm through google meet, as the job market for cosmetologists is growing rapidly and it is important for students to be a part of ever-changing industry. The resource person of the session Ms. Alphose Leena, cosmetologist at L'Oreal Anushka Salon in Chennai shared her knowledge on cosmetology and the ways to succeed in the field. She gave her insights on specific disciplines in cosmetology including hairstyling (hair cutting and coloring), esthetics (skin care), makeup application, nail care (manicures and pedicures), and other beauty treatments. She elaborated that there is a wide scope in the profession of cosmetology in India or in other countries. She highlighted the ways in which students can obtain educational & licensing certificates and after obtaining them, they can work in different industries or they can also be self-employed. During the Q&A session students clarified their doubts in the field of cosmetology. Around 85 students participated in the session and benefited.

Objective:

To position the course and provide inputs regarding registering, exam process & tactics to clear the exams

Report:

A Career Guidance Programme for CA Aspirants was arranged in two slots on 7 August 2021 & 14 August 2021 for all final year students belonging to the Commerce stream. The session was organised through the virtual platform (Gmeet). The First slot was for final year B. Com(A&F) & BBA and the second slot was for B. Com (CS) students. Ms. Shakuntala Gopal, Chartered Accountant &Business Associate, Finance, ARGA Investment Management India Pvt Ltd was the resource person.

The resource person highlighted the ways and means to register for the course, different levels of the course, the course content of each and every stage and the nuances to be followed to clear each course in different stages. She emphasized the opportunities and the demand for Chartered Accountants in the present and future. based on the Economic forum report 2021. She expressed that to be a successful Chartered Accountant the pre-conceived opinion about the course as the toughest & challenging has to be removed from the mind. The resource person explained the various roles & responsibilities of a Chartered Accountant in an organisation after a student raised a question during the question hour session.
Around 70 students attended the Programme in the first slot, around 85 students attended the Programme in the second slot and benefitted.
