Opportunities for employment are viewed as being quite important in today's environment. Students work hard in their studies in order to get hired by reputable businesses and organizations. Every member of society aspires to work in government institutions, but students are unaware of the various government portals, job openings, requirements for applying, the exam format, the age limit for applying for a particular job in a government organization, or the application fee for competitive exams. This means that students might pass up the chance to enroll to get a job in the government. Hence the Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the College planned to organize “Staff Selection Commission Exam for multi-tasking staff”

The session was organized for the entire academic year students for various streams on January 27, 2023, between 2.00 pm - 3.30 pm.

The programme was followed by Interactive lecture methodology on the Staff Selection Commission exam for Multi-Tasking Staff. The resource person started off the session by explaining what Staff Selection Commission exam for Multi-Tasking Staff is, how it is used in Government. SSC MTS Exam is a national level exam held for recruitment of personnel in General Group-C Central Service non-ministerial and non-gazette posts in various departments, ministries, and offices of the Government of India. The resource person explained the qualification to enroll for the Staff Selection Commission exam for Multi-Tasking Staff, in what language the exam is written, mode of exam, Age limits to attend SSC MTS exam. He also taught students various tricks and methods to solve Numerical aptitude questions in a few minutes. An application fee of Rs 100 to apply for SSC MTS exam. The exam is conducted for a duration of 1.30 Hour. there will be a negative marking of 0.25 mark for every wrong answer in the SSC MTS exam.

A post graduate degree is a higher-level credential that will expand an individual’s expertise in a certain subject area. students opt to go for postgraduation, which contribute towards better quality, higher scope, Global exposure and opportunities that inevitably contribute to better quality life. Hence the Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the College planned to organize “Career Guidance Programme on Career option after Graduation-CAT Exam”.


The Programme was organized for Second year students of Commerce, Arts, Science, Humanities stream on January 12, 2023 in JJK Auditorium between 2.00 pm-3.00 pm. A memento was given by Dr. Sudha Srikanth, Placement Officer and Soft Skills Trainer of C.T.T.E College to the Guest speaker Mr. M. Aravind, Director, T.I.M.E. Institute.

The programme was followed by an interactive lecture on 'Career option after Graduation-CAT Exam' by Mr.M. Aravind , Director, T.I.M.E. Institute. Mr.Aravind and his team explained why it is important for students to opt for Higher education and the need to prepare for Entrance exams like CAT, MAT, SNAP etc. According to the Guest speaker there are more than 3500 colleges. In order to get into renowned colleges for MBA it is mandatory that students must prepare for Entrance exams like CAT, MAT, SNAP etc. Mr.Aravind also elucidated on the reason the students should pursue a Master's degree after completing an Undergraduate degree. MBA Graduation has  various specializations such as HR, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Consulting etc.,. Mr. Aravind emphasized that MBA Graduation is a shortcut towards success. The Guest speaker also explained how to achieve marks in Entrance exams by practicing Quantitative, Reasoning and English. He also explained the need to manage time in examinations and spoke about the mantra towards success which were called the 3 D’s (Determination, Discipline and Direction). Mr.Aravind also taught students simple methodologies to solve complicated problems in entrance exams.  He also explained the selection process adopted to enroll for an MBA Degree. Mr.Aravind also explained the salary structure of students who pass out from renowned B schools after their graduation.

For many students, careers in fashion and interior design have long been an aspiration. Students constantly want to study and learn about fashion and interior design, despite the expanding number of arts and science universities. Fashion design is the art of applying style, design, or plain grandeur to clothing and accessories. The significance of fashion design is influenced by social and cultural contexts and has changed over time. Designers of clothing and decorations take a variety of courses. Some people operate independently or in groups. They work to meet consumer demands for fashionable apparel; but, given the time it takes to bring a piece of clothing to market, they occasionally need to consider shifting consumer preferences. Therefore, the Career Guidance and Placement Cell intended to host "Career Guidance programme towards Fashion & Interior Designing.” 


on January 10, 2023 in JJK Auditorium between 2.00 pm-3.00 pm, the Guest Speaker Ms.S.G.Mayurapriya, Director, Studio Maya who delivered an Interactive lecture Demonstration on Fashion and Interior Designing. She explained what Fashion and Interior designing is, why Fashion and Interior designing is significant. The Hedgehog Concept helps an individual understand their core value proposition. According to the Hedgehog concept, losing one's focus, competence, and efficiency results from having too many different interests and goals. Ms. Mayurapriya played videos related to famous fashion designers and their creations. The Guest speaker explained the fashion design diploma programme, which is a 15-month programme with three terms. Studying is the focus of terms 1 and 2, whereas internships are the focus of term 3.

The resource person Dr. Malarvizhi, President & Innovation Ambassador MoEs IIC, C.T.T.E College for Women, highlighted with her deep knowledge about the role and definition of entrepreneur in a definitive manner. The session covered various scopes of entrepreneurship and explored ideas for students to choose entrepreneurship as a career and justified with case studies of successful entrepreneurs. She also highlighted some of the Central & State government schemes relevant to entrepreneurship and motivated the students.

Group Discussion involves the process of sharing ideas with other participants in the group. Every participant shares his/her thoughts in the group, which makes diversities in the ideas. Group Discussion is widely used by most of the organizations in the recruitment process for the Organisations. It helps panelists to select a few candidates from the group.

Recruiters test the communication skills, leadership skills, test topic knowledge, teamwork, behavioral skills, General awareness, self-assurance, problem solving ability etc.

Often the group discussion rounds are considered to be hard when the participants lack confidence to express their ideas, thoughts, summarize the ideas discussed in group discussion and draw conclusions but this can be averted when certain methodology are followed by participants of group discussion. Hence the Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the College planned to organize a “Session on Group discussion”.

The Group discussion session was organized for all final year Commerce, Management, Science and Humanities students from October 19, 2022 to November 1,2022 in T. Thomas Auditorium between 2.00 pm - 3.00 pm. The schedule of the session is as given in the table below.

The Session started with an orientation on Group Discussion by Dr. Sudha Srikanth, Placement Officer and Soft Skill Trainer of C.T.T.E College. Ms. Sudha Srikanth elaborated on what is group discussion and why is group discussion round considered to be an essential part in placement, what organizations expect from candidates participating in group discussion along with confidence and posture that play a key role in Group Discussion. Dress code to be followed by the interviewees at the time of group discussion was also disseminated.

Day 2 of the Group Discussion session was organized for BSc Computer Science, BSc Psychology, BCA Students on 26.10.2022 in Thomas Auditorium between 2.00 pm - 3.00 pm. Around 69 students participated in the programme. The moderators of the session were Dr. K. Fahmida Begum, Assistant Professor, Department of English & Dr. M.R. Wajidha Begum, Assistant Professor, Department of English.  The topics discussed in the session were IQ or EQ: Which of the two is important, The Impact of social media Influencers and Digital India pros &  cons. Students were split into groups and were asked to give their perspective on the topics, students were guided by the moderators.

Day 3 of the Group Discussion session was organized for BSc Physics, BSc Mathematics, BSc Chemistry, B.com (Accounting and Finance) students on 27.10.2022 in JJK Auditorium between 2.00 pm- 3.00 pm. The Presentation on the Guidance Session on CA Foundation Exam by Ms. Monisha MP, (Aluma of CTTE College for women), Article Assistant R. GOPAL &CO (CA Inter) was classified the session into Five parts: the Eligibility criteria, Registration Process, Fees structure, Syllabus and Examination Dates. Ms. Monisha explained How to pursue CA and Elucidated on Foundation route. Foundation Route is an option for the students who can register for CA after appearing for the 12th Examination. As per Provisional registration announcement, students can register for CA foundation after passing 10th Examination. She explained about the Syllabus for CA Foundation Exam - there are 4 papers divided into 2 subjective and 2 objective. And she explained us about each paper and subjects covered in it. Ms. Monisha explained the fees structure for Indian Students as well as foreign students. She also explained about why students have to pursue CA course and why students opt for CA course.

The programme was an interactive demonstrative lecture on Education and job availability in Germany by Mrs. C. Maggie, Principal Education Consultant – Human Resources. Mrs. Maggie explained what are ways in which one can get placed in a German company. She advised the students to learn German before applying for a job there, to have a hang of the language while working. She helped students understand the facts in getting a job in Germany. She also explained how much a person can earn in different fields of jobs available in Germany.

The COVID19 Pandemic has substantially altered the labor market, since March 2020, businesses have made excellent use of technology in their hiring processes. Some of the major information technology firms such as Wipro, Infosys, and TCS, which are the largest recruiters of graduates through campus recruiting, announced a fundamental shift in the process of hiring for various jobs through the Smart Hiring Program. A smart hiring process is one in which a firm selects new graduates from a certain academic year directly through the company's online recruiting site rather than through the traditional campus interview procedure. As in the Wipro Smart Hiring Program for freshers graduating in 2023, there is a series of application registration processes that demands clear technical understanding to facilitate registration by final-year students. Hence the Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the College planned to organize a “Career Guidance Programme towards Smart Hiring Process”.

The Programme was organized for the Commerce & Management Stream of students on September 27, 2022, in JJK Auditorium between 2.00 pm - 3.00 pm. The Programme was followed by a Hands-on demonstration of the Smart Hiring Process by Ms. Hemavathy, Content Manager & Digital Marketing Lead, C.T.T.E College, as the smart Hiring process was about to open for the Commerce & Management Stream of students. Ms.Hemavathy mentored a student by using the student's mail ID and personal information for the session's presentation and made the student fill out the data. The presentation for the session was done on the Wipro website by the student. she demonstrated all four stages of the registration process in the portal. Ms.Hemavathy also explained other useful applications which are necessary for completing smart hiring job applications like:

She also demonstrated how to organize the mail inbox and how to upload all the necessary supporting documents in the mail drive, so that students can complete their registration at any time, anywhere. The resource person explained that the same process of registration & tools are to be followed for all top companies' smart hiring process registration in future.

The Programme was organized for Commerce, Arts, Science, Humanities stream of students on September 3, 2022 in Google Meet (Virtual mode) between 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm. 

The programme was followed by Web based instructive lecture on the topic Orientation Programme for CA Aspirants by Ms.Shakuthala Gopal, Chartered Accountant & Business Associate, ARGA Investment Management India PVT Ltd.  Ms.Shakunthala Gopal classified the session into four parts - what, How, Where and Why. Ms.Shankuthala Gopal explained 'what' as CA and described CA as  a power given to Chartered Accountant  as per the Act of 1971, A Chartered Accountant is given authority to do Audit and provide expert financial advice to help clients manage their funds. Ms.Shankuthala explained  'How' to pursue CA and elucidated on Foundation route as well as Direct entry route. Direct Entry route is an admission option for students who have already finished their graduation and are now looking to get into CA. By choosing this option, they can skip the first level of the CA course i.e. the Foundation course and seek admission directly into the CA Intermediate. In both Foundation and Direct Entry Route there are three levels such as Foundation, Intermediate and Final levels. In Intermediate and Final Level there are 2 groups and 4 papers for each level. Ms.Shakunthala also explained Articleship in which  students spend 3 years with a Chartered Accountant and learn what are the roles of Chartered Accountant moreover get exposure to various Financial duties of a Chartered Accountant. Ms. Shakunthala explained what opportunities a Chartered Accountant have in the contemporary world by presenting the list of Job opportunities in iimjobs.com. Ms. Shankuthala also explained the various exam papers in each level of CA course. She also explained about 'why' we have to pursue CA course and why students opt for CA course.

Education is a key determinant of one’s quality of life. Overseas education has long been an aspiration for many students. In spite of the growing number of universities, the Indian students opt to go abroad for higher education. Students travel to different countries to pursue various courses which are determined by better quality, higher scope, Global exposure and opportunities that inevitably contribute to better quality life. Moreover, students who intend to travel overseas for education often struggle with the process of finding best Universities and applying to such Universities, to obtain Financing and learn about the relevant regulations of other countries. Hence the Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the College planned to organize   a “Career Guidance Programme on Overseas Education”

The Primary objective of the Guest lecture on Overseas Education is to promote and provide awareness on Overseas Education.

The Programme was organized for Commerce, Arts, Science, Humanities stream of students on August 16, 2022 in JJK Auditorium between 10.00 am to 11.30 am. A memento was given by Dr. Sudha Srikanth, Placement officer and Soft skill trainer of C.T.T.E  College to the Guest speaker Mr. Dwarak Naga, Managing Director, INTELLIGENT OVERSEAS EDUCATION.

Mr.Dwarak Naga and his team explained why overseas Education is important for students, and spoke about Benefits of studying abroad, the academic benefits, personal benefits that students obtain by Overseas Education. He cleared the myth that prevails in the minds of people when it comes to overseas education and made the students understand the actual facts. A detailed comparison of higher education was made between different countries such as UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and Germany, which was further explained as per the Duration of programs in various countries; who can apply for courses in various countries; source of finance; Types of Educational system in various countries (which was further classified as Private colleges and Public colleges and their number); Job Industry and Average salary for various jobs in various countries . 

Mr. Dwarak Naga also spoke about Pathway program offered by the Australian Universities, offered at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level for students who are not able to meet the direct entry requirement of Australian Universities.   He also explained how much a student can earn part time and full time when he/she goes abroad.

The session covered various areas of entrepreneurship and its early stages. The resource person Mr Pawan Kumar Jha highlighted, with his deep knowledge, the role and definition of an entrepreneur in a definite manner. He also emphasised the difference between Invention and Innovation, Project and product with real time examples to enable students to have clarity in their entrepreneurial career. The resource person also highlighted the different technology driven business, different entrepreneurship areas and possible sources of funding. Students raised many questions and got clarification from the resource person during the question hour session. Around 75 students and 4 faculty attended the webinar and benefited.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the employment market significantly. Since March 2020 companies make use of technology effectively for their Hiring Process.  Some of the top Information Technology companies like Infosys, TCS which is also the biggest recruiters of graduates through campus recruitment, announced fundamental changes in the way of hiring through Smart Hiring Program for various roles. Smart Hiring Process is where a company recruits fresh graduates of a particular academic year directly through the company’s online recruitment portal by deviating from the regular campus interview process. As Infosys Smart Hiring Program invited application from freshers of the year of passing in 2023, which involves series of application registration process, which in turn requires clear technical knowledge to ease registration by final year students who are in the process for their job hunt. Hence the Career Guidance and Placement Cell of the College planned to organise a “Career Guidance Programme towards Smart Hiring Process”.

The Programme was organised for ScienceStream of students on July 25, 2022 in JJK Auditorium between 9.30-11.00 am.The Programme started with an Introduction on Smart Hiring Process by Dr.Sudha Srikanth, Placement Officer and Soft skill trainer of C.T.T.E College. She elaborated on the smart hiring process and how it is important for students to know about the technical nuances to submit each and every information of the applicant asked in the smart hiring online registration portal of the company carefully to avoid ambiguity. She insisted that the students have strong perseverance and be open minded to learn the technical tools to complete the registration appropriately as per the instructions rather than missing the job opportunities. T Hands on demonstration on Smart Hiring Process by Ms.Hemavathy,Content Manager & Digital Marketing Lead, C.T.T.E College then took place. As Infosys smart Hiring process was open for IT students at the first level, The resource Person Ms. Hemavathy used one BCA student's mail id and personal details for presentation and filled the same in Infosys application registration portal, simultaneously students who wanted to register for the job opening tried to register in the Infosys portal as per the instructions given. She demonstrated all four stages of registration process in the portal. She also explained on other useful applications which are necessary for completing smart hiring job application like:

She also demonstrated on how to organise the mail inbox and how to upload all the necessary supporting documents in mail drive, so that students can complete their registration at any time anywhere.
