Green Day

Each year CTMS host a Green Day to celebrate our learning about sustainability and for the Schoolgen Lead Team and Envirogroup to share what they have been focussing on throughout the year. Teachers and students run a variety of activities promoting energy efficiency. It is a great opportunity to explore our science curriculum and to promote our sustainable focus.

We had six Year 7 & 8 students and their Principal visit us for our Green Day from Opunake Primary School in Taranaki. They are currently working on a Curious Mind Projects, to take their cooking area "off the grid" so they are doing research about different types of renewable energy.

CTMS shared what we do to be energy efficient at our school, how we use our solar panels & gather data, and we explored some activities together about the different types of energy and why we think Solar Energy is an effective renewable energy source. It was fantastic to connect with another primary school to share our learning and to hear about their project.
