Danbury Job Site

This is half of the class of 2022, installing shingles on a 7 pitch roof. While practicing OSHA safety while wearing harnesses attached to anchors. Even during the rain and cold temp, they were working hard to finish the job!

This student is nailing in the vinyl siding with two inch finish nails.

This is a student nailing white one-inch trim nails into the Fascia where is located at the overhang of the roof.

This student knows the importance of correct measurements. So he is writing down the right measurements that was just given to him by his partner.


Bethel Job Site

In this picture, we were moving the plank to the other side of the garage. This plank is a platform that was used so that we were able to nail the rafters together.

In this image above we can see that a student is cutting the tail cut or tail overhang for a common rafter with a circular saw. This common rafter will be placed on the front left side of the three-car detached garage. This common rafter was a 2 by 10 rafter in nominal size but 1 ½ by 9 ½ in actual size.

The picture above shows a student holding a circular saw cutting on a 2 by 10 rafter. Here the student is cutting the soffit cut overhang on a common rafter for a three-car garage. There is a wall supported by two rafters known as the gable end.

This is a student at the 3 bay Garage in Bethel. He is currently nailing in one of our valleys rafters with his 20 oz waffle head hammer into the gabled end. We had one student standing on the staging holding the top of the valley while this student nail it right in place with 3 in nails. The material is a LVL

This student is reinforcing the guardrail to the gable in order to provide additional safety when above 6'

This is a student cutting a piece of plywood at the Bethel job site using a circular saw.. She was cutting placing them on the corners of the house ( tying in corners )

This is a student nailing a common rafter to the ridgeboard making sure it lines up with the other rafter and the 16" O.C. marked lines, on a roof that is a 12 pitch. They used pneumatic nail guns using 3 in nails in the tool only putting a nail on both sides and the top birds mouth.

This student cut roof rafters and is carrying them to the back of the garage for other classmates on top, to install them.
