All About Me

What does a School Psychologist do?

School Psychologists work with with students, families, and school staff to promote academic and emotional success.

School Psychologists help connect students and families to community resources, provide individual and group counseling, mental health education, special education assessments, and crisis intervention.

Hello! I'm Ms. Johnson, the MCVSD School Psychologist.

My goal as a school psychologist is to help fight the stigma surrounding mental illness by spreading awareness and education to students, teachers, and families. I also work directly with students to assist them in developing coping and resiliency skills when facing life challenges.

Try and remind yourself that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness! When we ask for help, we have the opportunity to see our situation from a different perspective, and find solutions and supports to help us cope.

Outside of school, I enjoy going to the beach, paddle boarding, playing soccer, playing with my cat, and traveling. I also enjoy playing the piano, and spending time with my friends and family.
