Hello! I’m so excited to be starting my 9th year at Conemaugh Township and my 18th year teaching English! I earned my undergraduate teaching degree from The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and my graduate degree in Literature from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Outside of the classroom, life is busy and fun! My husband and I have three boys—Gabe (17), Jake (15), and Luke (11). Between piano lessons, baseball, soccer, and swimming, our family stays on the go throughout the year!

I grew up in a military family, which gave me the opportunity to live in some pretty amazing places, including Hawaii. Those experiences helped spark my love of travel and exploring new places.

One of my favorite places to visit is Washington, D.C. Each year, D.C. hosts a fantastic book festival, and I’ve had the opportunity to meet some pretty awesome authors there! Be sure to check out my page, “Mrs. Salem and Famous Authors,” to see some pictures from my adventures.
