Course Description

The student will:

A. Recognize and understand the concepts of the communication field of video media.

B. Understand the parts and functions of a video camera.

C. Follow and understand the rules of composition pertaining to video which include:

• Camera Handling
• Lighting
• Audio
• Pacing
• Rule of Thirds
• Composition Balance
• Framing
• Frame within a Frame
• Camera Angles
• 180 Degree Rule
• Story Boards
• Script Writing
• Editing
• Producing

D. Understand and demonstrate the types of camera shots and movements.

E. Create and define shot sequences.

F. Learn different camera techniques.

G. Learn different camera shots.

H. Gain knowledge of the latest technology available in the field of video media.

I. Edit video footage in a non-linear format.
