We know that feedback is the cornerstone of professional and personal growth, especially in the field of Speech-Language Pathology. Whether verbal or written, thoughtful feedback is essential for refining skills, deepening understanding, and fostering the compassionate care our clients deserve.
In our program, verbal feedback is a cornerstone of the learning experience. It provides students with immediate, real-time insights, enabling quick adjustments and fostering dynamic interactions during clinical practice and classroom discussions. Written feedback complements this by offering a reflective resource, ensuring clarity and precision as you grow in your clinical and academic pursuits.
We view feedback as a two-way street. It’s not just about receiving guidance from faculty, supervisors, and peers; it’s also about learning to provide constructive, supportive feedback to others. This skill is vital for collaborating effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams in your future career as an SLP.
Our commitment to a feedback-rich environment ensures that every student feels supported, challenged, and empowered to become a compassionate and highly skilled professional. Together, we’ll create a learning community where feedback is not just a tool but a shared journey toward excellence.
Welcome to a program where every conversation, every written note, and every moment of reflection helps shape the future of communication. Below you will find templates we use during practicum and externship clinical rotations.
Please provide each student with a feedback form and upload this into their practicum folders. We encourage you to tag/ping the student in this document each day and provide resources here (links etc). The student also has the capability to tag/ping the supervisor with questions as they arise that can be addressed that week.
