Simucase

Simucase is an online clinical simulation platform that allows graduate SLP students to develop and practice clinical skills through interactive, case-based learning experiences. Simulations provide opportunities to work through components of the clinical process, including assessment, differential diagnosis, clinical decision-making, intervention planning, and interdisciplinary considerations across a variety of populations and practice settings.

Throughout the graduate program, students may be assigned Simucase activities as part of their academic courses and clinical practicums. Depending on the simulation and course or practicum requirements, students may also be eligible to receive clinical clock hours for successfully completed Simucase experiences. Students should follow the instructions provided by their instructor or clinical educator regarding completion requirements and documentation of eligible hours.

The Simucase subscription is paid for by the M.S. SLP Program, so students do not need to purchase an individual subscription. Students are encouraged to take advantage of this resource not only for assigned activities, but also to strengthen clinical reasoning and gain additional exposure to populations, diagnoses, and clinical situations they may not encounter during every practicum experience.
