Due to the misconception of the “10-step Korean skincare routine,” people thought using more products was the key to smooth, glassy skin, rather than using the products fit for them and their specific skin problems. Using too many new products at once increases the chance of skin irritation. Regarding accessibility issues, users with disabilities expressed that being able to differentiate products from each other is a major struggle due to the identical shapes and textures of the products. People with diseases like Parkinson’s that cause stiffness and shaking often have trouble opening and gripping the straight, sleek packaging.
As a visual designer specializing in graphic and UX/UI design, Xue Ee recently graduated from CSUMB in Spring 2022 with a B.S. in Communication Design and worked as a Visual Communication and Marketing Intern at CSUMB. Having always been interested in expanding her skills and knowledge in the design industry, she started creating her arts and illustrations behind @vizdesign.xeo.
Kayla is a recent graduate from CSU Monterey Bay in Spring 2022 with a B.S. in Communication Design and a minor in Business. She aspires to be a Brand and Visual Designer specializing in skincare and cosmetics. With Hoissom as her biggest project so far, she, along with her teammate Xue Ee, has hopes to launch the brand in the future.
