  • Understand the CSTA & Maryland K12 CS Standards (for students)

  • Identify courses to which CS content could be added

  • Explore activities to develop teacher candidate knowledge of CS practices and concepts

  • Understand levels of integration

Checklist of Activities:

  • Review Maryland's K-12 Computer Science Standards

  • Review the CSTA K12 CS Progression Chart and definitions for practices and concepts from the K12 CS framework as needed

  • Select one of the resources below to explore alignment to MD CS standards and how integration is approached

  • Share on FlipGrid (pwd: teachCS20) one of the following:

    • Create a lesson plan for one of your pre-service courses that integrates computing and explain how the lesson addresses both CS and the other subject (Integrated Lesson Planning Guide --> Make a copy)

    • Create a scope-and-sequence of CS integration across your pre-service program (What courses will students take that have integrated content? What content will you cover in each course? How does it align to the MD CS Standards?) (Spreadsheet tool --> Make a copy)
