Community School of Davidson (CSD) is a North Carolina Public Charter School and we welcome students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin. No tuition or any other fees are required to attend our school.  Kindergarten-12th Grade

2025-26  School Year K-12 Lottery Registration Opens October 1, 2024 & Ends on January 31, 2025

 General Lottery Information 

 The 2025-26 School Year Lottery will be open to the public and is scheduled to occur during one of our board meetings on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., at our High School campus, located at 404 Armour Street, Davidson 28036. Results of the Lottery are emailed after this event.

Community School of Davidson will have an open enrollment period beginning October 1, 2024, and ending January 31, 2025, for admission for the 2025-2026 school year.

All registrants who submit a registration during the open enrollment period will be admitted unless the number of registrants at the applicable grade level exceeds the number of openings at that grade level. If the number of registrants exceeds the number of openings at a grade level, a lottery will be held to determine admission. Once openings are filled, the lottery draw will continue to determine the order of a waitlist.

*The CSD Board of Education will determine the number of openings at each grade level before the lottery.

Qualifying Student Registration

Under the revised CSD Lottery Policy, the CSD Board will determine the number of lottery openings reserved for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch, under the National School Lunch Program ("Qualifying Students"). That determination has not yet been made by the Board for the 2025-26 school year. Due to high enrollment numbers in grades 2, 3, 4, 5,6, and 7, we do not anticipate any openings being reserved at those grade levels for Qualifying Students.  For grades K-1 and 8-12, we anticipate one or more slots per grade level potentially being reserved for Qualifying Students.  

REGISTRATION AS A QUALIFYING STUDENT IS OPTIONAL.  

To clarify, we are not running a separate lottery for Qualifying Students; these students will still be included in the general lottery with the potential to have a priority admission status.  A check box on the lottery registration form will indicate a desire to be entered into the lottery as a Qualifying Student. The standards for qualification can be found on the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction website, at  2024-25 Income Eligibility Guidelines.

If your child is admitted as a Qualifying Student and would not have otherwise been admitted, proof of income reflecting qualifying status will be required (and if your family does not qualify, your child will not be admitted). Please note that all custodial (shared custody) Parents/Guardians must submit proof for this process. 

In addition, CSD does offer Free and Reduced Lunch to students who qualify for the National School Lunch Program, regardless of the reason they were admitted.     

LOTTERY REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

Online Registration – This is the preferred method due to the large volume of registration forms received.

1. We recommend using a PC or laptop to register. PLEASE DO NOT USE AUTOFILL TO COMPLETE. IT WILL CHANGE YOUR CHILD'S NAME TO YOUR NAME!

2. Be sure to use a valid email address when prompted to create your account. There is not a separate snapcode that is needed as the snapcode is embedded in the link to the form. If you have any issues, close the browser window and then click on the link again, and log into your account to continue. 

3.  Please remember that if you have more than one child to register and you choose OPTION 2, you must submit a separate registration form for each child.  

4. A confirmation email will be sent to the email address you entered on the form shortly after submission. If you do not receive the confirmation email after you submit your registration form(s), then your registration did not go through and your child will not be run through the lottery. YOU are responsible for ensuring you receive this confirmation email. Please contact us via email, to confirm receipt of registration, if you are in doubt.  On a few occasions registrants have found their email confirmation in their SPAM folder, so be sure to check there before you email us at enrollment@csdspartans.org for assistance.

5. Please SAVE your confirmation email for your reference. Be sure to carefully review your entry for errors.  If the form was submitted with any errors, please email us at enrollment@csdspartans.org with the requested corrections that are needed. Once received, we will respond to you within 7 days to confirm that the corrections have been made. If you have not heard back from us within the stated timeframe, you will want to continue to reach out to us until receipt of the corrections needed has been confirmed. 

6. Lottery Results are emailed to the 1st Parent/Guardian Email address ONLY (the system is unable to send it to more than the 1st one listed). Be sure to complete the Lottery Registration Form with this in mind as only this first Parent/Guardian will receive the results.

*By submitting a Lottery Registration Form, you acknowledge that private tours are not offered. 

If you would need to see the campus in person before accepting a seat if your child is seated within the lottery process, you must attend one of the Open House sessions to see the building in person.

*By submitting the Lottery Registration Form, you acknowledge that you will need to learn more about CSD during the Lottery Registration period to be prepared if your child is seated within the Lottery process. The time to accept if seated reduces as we move closer to the start of the school year and you may have limited time to respond. Learning about CSD during Open Registration is critical if you need to learn more before deciding.
