About Me

Hello St. Catherine School! My name is Mrs. Green. I am so happy to be teaching fourth grade this year. I am a 4th generation native of Oakland. I graduated from Piedmont High and UC Berkeley (GO BEARS!) I have a grown son and daughter and a young granddaughter. I also have "grand dogs". I enjoy traveling, crafts, cooking, animals, gardening, and tea parties.

I have been teaching for over 30 years in public, private, and catholic schools as well as home-school based programs. I have taught preschool through middle school students in traditional and non-traditional settings. I have been a regular classroom teacher as well as an elementary science specialist. I've taught at camps, worked in extended care, taught gifted students, and extracurricular classes. I enjoy doing hands-on/project-based learning lessons that cross the curriculum. I've taken many classes through Lawrence Hall of Science, UC Berkeley, NASA/AMES Research Center, AIMS, Project Wet, etc. I helped start an interpretive center at the marsh at Mt. View Sanitary District in Martinez. I also worked at Lindsay Museum teaching classes and leading tours.

I feel that if I'm excited about teaching, the children will be excited about learning.

Here's to a great school year!
