The New Britain High School Music Department has been providing the New Britain community with a myriad of forms of entertainment since it's founding in 1850. Our history of high-quality entertainment runs the gamut from classical concerts, our annual Elizabethan Madrigal Feaste, staged revues (such as our On-Stage Revues of the 1980s and 1990s, ten years of Music May-nia and our recent return to the old style with Back On-Stage), and the return of fully staged, Broadway style musicals, beginning with Footloose in 2007 directed by former NBHS Choral Director Mark Neumann.
Mr. Neumann continued to run our productions until his retirement in 2010. Since 2011, Jason Nicolo Ferrandino, our Drama and Choral Director, has assumed the direction of our Spring musical and other productions with the assistance of Robert Smedley on Tech and Christine Kuzia as Choreographer. Since 2018, Matthew Sbalcio has served as our Pit Band Conductor for our Spring musical productions.
