Hey, Talley Tigers! Here's an opportunity to do some good for the environment and also earn house points and prizes. Simply bring in items from our list of special Terracycle collections listed below. All items may be dropped off to Mrs. Roberts in the Media Center. The more you bring in, the more you can earn!
NEW! Entenmenn's Little Bites pouches: This collection is for the plastic packaging only; cardboard boxes can be recycled in curbside recycling.
NEW! Air and home care trigger heads: This program is sponsored by Mr. Clean and Febreeze, but all brands of trigger heads will be accepted.
Drink pouches: This collection is sponsored by Honest Kids, but ALL BRANDS of aluminum foil and plastic drink pouches (including straws!) may be sent in. Please squeeze excess liquid from the pouches.
Kroger Brand flexible packaging: This includes all flexible packaging under the Simple Truth™, Private Selection®, Kroger® Brand, Comforts®, Pet Pride®, Luvsome®, Abound® labels.
Laundry detergent tubs and pouches: We have two product-specific collections. One is limited to Tide and Gain laundry tubs and lids (Laundry jugs can be placed in Decatur's curbside recycling.); Tide and Downy pouches; Tide, Dreft and NBD. fabric care packaging; NBD. Eco-Box packaging; and NBD. bottles with triggers. The second collection is for ARM & HAMMER™ and OxiClean™ plastic laundry pouches.
Air freshener aerosols: This program is for Febreze brand aerosols only.
Swifer cleaning refills: This program is Swifer brand specific and is for USED duster refills, dry pad refills and wet pad refills only. NOTE: Wet pads should be dry before sending in. Cardboard packaging should be placed in your curbside recycling.
Bring in 5 items, earn 1 House Point
OR select 1 piece of candy.
Bring in 10 items, earn 3 House Points
OR 3 pieces of candy.
Bring in 15 items, earn 5 House Points,
5 pieces of candy OR 1 item from
the prize box.
Bring in 20+ items, earn 5 House Points
AND 1 item from the prize box.
Bring in 30+ items, earn 10 House Points
AND a trip to the CHaRM Center.
NOTE: The free program for recycling socks has ended.
We no longer will be accepting socks for recycling.
If you are a Terracycle member, please consider donating your
points to Talley Street Upper Elementary to help the Green Team in its efforts.
We also are sponsoring a special collection of small items that includes loose plastic bottle caps, food pouch tops, pull tabs and plastic bread tags. Bottle caps and food pouch tops will be donated to a local musician for use in the creation of musical instruments. All other items will be recycled through Ridwell.
