Welcome to LINKS at Winnona Park Elementary!
Hello! My name is Martina Baerman. This is my 23rd year teaching and my first year teaching LINKS at Winnona Park. I am a native of the Decatur area and graduated from Druid Hills High School a very long time ago. In my spare time, you can find me running on trails around the city or hanging out with my family. This is going to be a wonderful year!
Hello! My name is Michele Stroud. This is my 26th year teaching and my 5th year teaching LINKS at Winnona Park. A few of my favorite things to teach are social/emotional lessons, creative and critical thinking, and STEAM.
I grew up in NJ and moved to Georgia in the mid 90s. I live in Lilburn with my family. In my spare time, I enjoy being outside hiking, kayaking or swimming. I also love to cheer on Atlanta United! I am looking foward to a fantastic year!
CSD uses two models to provide services to elementary LINKS students:
CLUSTER MODEL: Students are clustered in a classroom with a gifted endorsed teacher. The gifted endorsed classroom teacher plans and delivers differentiated instruction and tasks to LINKS students for reading and math.
RESOURCE MODEL: LINKS students attend Resource class with a gifted specialist during the daily intervention block. Gifted specialists facilitate interdisciplinary units that extend beyond the content standards and are designed to foster critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, and social and self-awareness.
