Suicide is a serious dilemma in our community, however people don't just decide to commit suicide. Mental health is the main cause of many teenagers thinking about suicide or choosing to harm themselves in some way or form. As our proposed policy, we believe that more mental health support not just in schools but outside too, could help limit the amount of attempts and as well as the successful attempts. We are convinced that increasing mental health support will help with a common illness like depression. This is important because many young people like teens struggle with depression, young individuals are at an increased risk of committing suicide. We chose to bring this up because a mental illness like depression is a primary reason why suicide rates increase. We believe that mental health support can offer major assistance with this issue.
Mental heath support provides important tools for guiding people through life's challenges. It offers improved coping strategies, and strengthens emotional resilience and better quality of life. Research shows that having a social support system can have a positive impact on your overall mental health, especially women, older adults, patients, workers and students. Study shows that self-care can help you manage stress, lower your risk of illness, and increase your energy. As well as small acts of self-care in your daily life can have a big impact. There are simple self-care acts like regular exercise, eating regularly, sleeping, or even trying relaxing activities.
We trust that the branch of government that would be best for this issue is the legislative and executive branch. We hold this opinion because the legislative branch would help pass the law and help contribute to funding sources for these centers.
