The advantages for our policy is that opening more shelters could help more people get off the street and have more beds for them, basically keeping people off the street making them safer for them and everyone else, getting mental support for the homeless, physical support from the shelter, and providing an address for a suitable job.
There's stress and vulnerability from being in a homeless shelters, which can be draining. Sometimes during this process, of being in a place full of people of all ages, young & old can just be heavily stressful. Some could feel judged that they're in a homeless shelter. The way we would get the money for these homeless shelters to expand can affect others, like us as a community. But we can give our tax dollars as time goes by, we could get everyone who is homeless off the street.
