On my Interview that I did with the math teacher who is Ms. Brodel, when I ask her about violence and assault with in 5 questions. She answered in her own words " I don't think it is not a big problem in the community. I think that mental health problems and easier access to weapons and exposure to violent media are big reasons why violence happens. she also mentioned that she thinks the problem can be solved with Education and Awareness. and that was the end of my interview.
I interviewed Mrs Barker about the action plan, the first thing I asked was what she thought causes assault and violence she said "Purely influenced to do it, and to support themselves and their family.” so she believes it's not usually their fault for violence they are pure pressure to do something bad, and Mrs Considine said that it is caused by past trauma and learned behavior. Then I asked them if they thought violence was a problem in the community and Mrs barker said that she believes that it is and people don't feel safe to walk in the community, Mrs. Considine said that there isn't enough focus on violence in the community. Then I told them about the proposed policy and Mrs. Considine said that it will help in making them know what their actions did, and Mrs Barker said that it is a great strategy because they are giving back to the community. Finally I asked if they thought the government should help with assault and violence and they said yes Mrs Barker said She thinks that it is the governments' responsibility to help and regulate what is causing it, and Mrs Considine said that they need to have more focus on mental health and provide more services.
In my interview with Juliana Vega, a local Quality control inspector, answered my questions successfully and gave good information. She answered my question "Our proposed policy is advertising and doing community events to raise assault awareness, do you think this will help? why or why not?" She answered "The most effective way to raise awareness is making fundraiser. Fundraisers will only work if it is used for self defense activities. Such as kickboxing classes for the community to learn how to protect themselves against violence, because violence is never going to end." This was Juliana's first response. To add on to her response, she answered my second question "What do you think causes violence?" She responded with " Unstable people who don't get support from their families or the government." and with that I ended my interview.
