On June 8th, 2021, we celebrated our graduating seniors and recognized just a few of their many, many accomplishments and contributions to the Chimacum Jr/Sr High School community.
Local scholarship committees presented their winners, counselors recognized non-local scholarships awarded, our assistant principal presented Community Service Awards, teachers presented Department Medallions, and our principal recognized this year's Salutatorian and Valedictorian.
If you need a little pick-me-up at the end of a tough year, this a GREAT WATCH!
No matter what you're planning to do after you leave High School, you will be able to do it better (and get paid more to do it!) if you get some additional training, an apprenticeship, attend technical school, or go to college. You'll probably enjoy it more too! The thing is, this extra training usually costs money. No more freebies after High School. That is where financial aid comes in, and why it's so important. to understand just how easy it is to get started.
CJSHS offers multiple live Financial Aid Advising events throughout the school year, so keep an eye out for those. Experts will join us to share the need-to-knows, then answer ALL your financial aid questions, and even sit down and help you with your FAFSA one-on-one. If you don't want to wait, you can get started now by watching the video of last year's Financial Aid Night presentation (to the right). You can also click the link to access the Financial Aid Night presentation slides online so you can follow along.
If you want the bare bones of Financial Aid, here they are:
You can start working on your application on October 1st of your senior year. Get it done sooner rather than later! Your FAFSA or WASFA application will take care of the first three types of financial aid - grants, loans, and work-study. Questions? Either watch the video or click through the website links below.
You can start NOW. You don't need to be a senior, you just need to be proactive and consistent! Check out the scholarship websites listed out below to get started AND check out our local Scholarship Opportunites page.
Looking for money for college? Remember, the most important thing to do is complete your FAFSA (the Free Application for Federal Student Aid). This application will allow you access to Federal Student Aid and many scholarships. Click Here to learn more about the FAFSA and apply today!
Not so sure about the FAFSA? If you would rather apply for state financial aid, you can fill out the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) instead. Ask your school counselor if you're still unsure or have questions about accepting state financial aid.
