E-Learning Days

Channahon School District first introduced e-learning days during the 2019-2020 school year.  When an e-learning day is called, students will be responsible for attending school virtually. The decision on whether or not an emergency day will also be an e-learning day will be announced at the same time. Teachers will have requirements for attendance posted in Google Classroom (or a similar posting medium communicated by the teacher before e-learning days are called) by 9:00 a.m. In order to be counted as attending school, students must meet the requirements set forth by the teacher.

The requirements for attendance will be grade-appropriate and may not all be digital lessons. Teachers will be available throughout the day to assist students via email or other communications tools (Google Classroom, Remind, etc.) established by the teacher.

Students in grades 5-8 will use the school-owned Chromebooks assigned to them for completion of tasks. If possible, teachers will send home devices with K-4 students.  In an unexpected emergency situation, students in grades K-4 may use a family-owned device for completion of tasks.  Teachers will communicate with families about how to log in to required services. If you do not have a family-owned device that is appropriate for schoolwork, please communicate with your child's teacher to make arrangements for taking home a loaner device when weather conditions are predicted to be poor.
