It is important that you can communicate a compelling vision for your ministry. When you invite people to give to your ministry, they want to know their partnership is having an impact in God’s Kingdom. It is critical that you can clearly and concisely tell your story of how God is leading you to serve with Cru.
On a separate document, write out the answers to each of these questions. Then tighten up your answers so you can communicate your vision in three to six sentences when sharing your ministry with someone. (Print or save in an accessible way on your personal device and have with you at your Cru Orientation Weekend.)
1. When and how did you first sense God leading you to ministry? Think through the following questions to help you articulate this.
What is the personal vision or burden God has given you to help reach people for Christ? What kind of impact are you trusting God to make through you in this ministry?
Why do you believe God has led you to be an intern with Cru? Write out the reasons why you believe He has led you specifically to Cru.
What specific interactions and experiences did God use to lead you to serve with Cru?
Was there a particular time when you sensed God’s invitation to do an internship? What were the circumstances?
How did God use scripture to prompt you toward ministry? What verses did God use to confirm this direction and decision?
Was there a person God used to encourage you to do an internship?
Were there any other circumstances God used?
How do you hope God will use you during your year as an intern?
What do you hope will be the end result?
2. If someone asks you, “Why do you believe God led you to serve as an intern with Cru?” how would you answer them? Using your answers above, summarize this in three-six sentences. (It is best if this is in story form using some of key experiences you wrote in your answers above.)
3. Share your My Vision for my Ministry ten times with ten different people.
