Brooke Shortlidge is an experienced and passionate educator who has dedicated over 18 years to teaching and supporting students in the Council Rock School District. After beginning her career as a financial analyst, Brooke felt a strong pull toward education and made a meaningful career change that has since shaped the lives of countless children.
For nearly two decades, Brooke taught 2nd grade, where she found joy in helping each student learn and grow. One of her favorite parts of the school day was reading aloud to her class—a cherished time that allowed her to connect deeply with her students and instill a love of literature.
Currently, Brooke serves as an intervention facilitator at Hillcrest Elementary School, a place she describes as truly special. In this role, she works with a wide range of students across the school, providing targeted support and helping them build the skills they need to succeed. She collaborates closely with the MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) and PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) teams to ensure that all children receive the guidance and resources they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Outside of school, Brooke lives in Doylestown with her two children—Ben, who is 13, and Madelyn, who is 9—as well as their lovable goldendoodle, Abby. Whether at home or in the classroom, Brooke is known for her dedication, warmth, and commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can flourish.
