Scheduling Band

1st Semester -

• Marching Band/Color Guard (1st hour)

Or

• Band (Fall Concert Band - 2nd hour): this option is for freshmen only

• (optional) Jazz Band

Freshmen have the option to participate in either the Marching Band or the Fall Concert Band. Most incoming 9th graders choose Marching Band over the Concert Band. But, if you feel like you might be behind on your instrument and/or music reading, Concert Band will be the place for you.

2nd Semester -

• Wind Symphony

Or

• Symphonic Band

Or

• Band (Concert Band)

• (optional) Jazz Band

For the 2nd semester you will be placed in one of the three concert bands: Wind Symphony; Symphonic Band; or Band (Concert Band). This will be based on our chair placement auditions that will take place after the marching season ends. When you register for classes, it does not matter which 2nd semester band option you select. Just make sure you have one of them (Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, or Concert Band) on your schedule. We will make sure the counselors schedule you into the correct class before 2nd semester begins.
