The core of the team's work for Element C revolved around the determination and evaluation of Profectly's user stories*. By first figuring out the main consumer of Profectly's product, students, the team was able to better understand how they would react and use Profectly's app/website before it even existed by comparing it to other functions of products found in the same or similar markets. After determining Profectly's central consumers and stakeholders, the team established a set of criteria for each user story by evaluating the conditions for it to be accomplished. This allowed for an increased understanding of how to effectively accomplish and apply them to the solution; therefore, contributing to the recognition of which user stories would be most useful for the prototyping of Profectly's product.
Students (Typically Aged 13+ through high school and beyond)
Young Adults (Either those in school or working there first or second job - trying to improve work habits)
Those of the users who have the capital to purchase a one time deal or subscription to premium tools that the website/app will offer.
Likely to be 18+ years old as this is the time when students and young adults have jobs and income. In other cases, parents/guardians are buyers on behalf of the user.
Host (For website this could be the website creator and domain creation, or for an app the store such as Apple or Google Play).
The following is a list of planned features that will likely be included in the prototyping of Profectly's product:
Calendar/Scheduling/Planner System
App Usage Tracking and Blocking
Account Creation and Linking
Social Menu
Productivity Timer
Goals and Habits/Challenges
Rewards
Personal Experience
Tips/Tricks Learning experience
Effective Notifications/Reminders
Motivational Encouragement
The next step is to decide what system should be used to create the prototype and what asses limitations it might have. For instance, the product is likely to be some form of software whether it be an app or website (or both) but the way to create it, using a free builder or code, has to be evaluated. Additionally, to better understand Profectly's target users and audience, interviewing and surveying students and teachers may be necessary to gain further insight into the problem and potential features or aspects of the product.
