"Karibu Sana!" (Welcome!)
An adventure of a lifetime awaits you. Remember to embrace the challenges and endeavour to see life from the point of view of someone different than you. Perhaps, while doing so, you will see how similar we really all are.
Saying our goodbyes and our departure!
Jambo from Tanzania!
The marathon travel day went as smoothly as it could have and we’re now settling into our hotel (House of West Kili) at the base of Mt Kilimanjaro. The group is tired but in good spirits, and ready to climb Kili tomorrow!
Climbing Kilimanjaro with our Tanzanian Team!
Your boys are tough! They have been super supportive of each other during the climb. Today our group climbed to the 1st base camp of Mt. Kilimanjaro today, which sits at an impressive elevation of 3,800 m. After enjoying a picturesque lunch on the shoulder of Kili, we enjoyed an afternoon listening to a local chief, former university professor, and pastor about the history and current living situations in Tanzania. The boys also had a talk with a gentleman named Professor Mlay. He spoke so eloquently to the boys and was inspirational. He is a caring man and a beautiful husband who modeled leadership in such a powerful way. Our boys later were fitted for a school uniform to go to school with their homestay friends.
