In our dynamic world, there are many learning opportunities for everyone to embrace. We often ask ourselves to step outside of our comfort zone, which makes us vulnerable. The Global Learning & Adventure program is designed to help all stakeholders embrace their vulnerability to improve our global competency skills within our Core Values (Respect, Honesty, Responsibility and Compassion).

Research was conducted to explore the learning outcomes of developing leadership skills and citizenship responsibility. It was also conducted to share the student voice. This can be found on the testimonial page found here.
The main takeaways from research illustrated:
1. The Global Outreach program is experiential learning that significantly influences students' development of both positive leadership and engaged citizenship, and they are motivated to become more involved in their school and local communities.
2. All participants learn best when they’re connecting with friends and local communities, picking up real-world skills through hands-on experiences and meaningful moments as global learners.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

There are several frameworks that illustrate the importance of developing and understanding the importance of global competency skills. At Crescent School, through both academic and cocurricular perspectives, the use of the OECD framework is to incorporate parallels to establish learning outcomes for our National and Global Outreach Trips.
