-Objectives of NJATJ

Objectives:

1. To create a network of Japanese language secondary and college level teachers in the State of New Jersey.

2. To familiarize and educate NJATJ members about The New Jersey Department of Education’s resources, and disseminate information regarding support programs.

3. To identify and recruit local Japanese organizations with the intent of enhancing Japanese language instruction.

4. To work collectively with Japanese government organizations (Consulate General of Japan, Japan Foundation, US-Japan Foundation, and other non-profit organizations) in order to improve Japanese

language education in New Jersey.

5. To explore and identify major Japanese companies in the NJ/NY area for financial resources with the intent of co-sponsoring cultural events, workshops, awards programs, and etc.

6. To support both the Japanese National Honor Society Program and the Japanese AP Program in New Jersey.

7. To participate in the annual NJEA Convention by offering information and resources regarding teaching materials, employment opportunities, special programs, and workshops.
