When is the Athletic Trainer available?
Athletic Training hours can vary greatly depending on the season and schedules of games. Typically, Kristen will be available during last block through the last home game or start of last practice. There is a sign on the door stating where she can be found. If she is off site, your coach has her contact info and will be more than willing to contact her to answer your question as appropriate.
Where is the Athletic Training Room?
Across from the Girl's Team Room, next to Coach Hughes's office in the Athletic Hallway.
During outdoor seasons, typically the AT can be found in the golf cart at a game or practice.
Why do I need a doctor's note?
Athletic Trainers work under the direction of a physician. If you see your pediatrician, orthopedist, or other specialist-they must give you a note stating your injury status, any restrictions, and Return to Sport plan. The AT will maintain open communication with your chosen physician about your status to appropriately return you to your chosen sport.
Why should I see the Athletic Trainer?
If you have an injury or a question about a potential injury, the AT is here to answer and assist you. The AT will evaluate your injury, create a plan of how to proceed, and assist on the road back to the sport you love.
Does the Athletic Trainer travel?
Typically no, the AT does not travel. In the Hockomock League (as well as many of our Non-League opponents) we are lucky to have ATs available at away contests. The exception to this is Varsity Football-the AT will travel to away Varsity Football. Every effort will also be made for post-season contests when possible.
