Library Day 1

Goals: Explore Modern Day Issues and Create a NoodleTools Account

AGENDA

  1. Review Constitution Research Project and Research Question (10 min)
  2. Conduct background research on modern day issues of your choice. Choose 1 modern day issue and complete the "Research Exploration" handout. (40 min)
    1. Search the Library Catalog for books.
    2. Search the Library Databases by Subject for articles, videos, etc. **IMPORTANT** To access the databases off school campus, you will need to enter the required passwords. Please visit the Passwords page and follow the instructions.
  3. Create a NoodleTools account, share with your teacher, and cite 1 article on your issue or Amendment (30 min)

AGENDA

  1. Review Constitution Research Project Assignment and Research Question (5 min)
  2. Review Notecards in NoodleTools (10 min)
  3. Review Annotated Bibliographies (*Honors ONLY*) (10 min)
  4. Use databases, multimedia sources, and credible websites to locate information on your Amendment and modern day issue. Use the C.R.A.P. Test when evaluating a source's credibility and appropriateness for research. (10 min)
  5. Cite sources in NoodleTools and take notes (40-50 min)

  3. Use databases, multimedia sources, and credible websites to locate primary and secondary sources of information on your Amendment and modern day issue. Cite sources in NoodleTools and take notes (40-60 min).

Library Day 4

Goals: Research Modern Day Issues in Court Cases, Take Notes, and Cite Sources

AGENDA

  1. Review Constitution Research Project Assignment and Research Question (5 min)
  2. Locate Court Cases (15 min)
  3. Use databases, multimedia sources, and credible websites to locate primary and secondary sources of information on your Amendment and modern day issue. Cite sources in NoodleTools and take notes (40-60 min).

Library Day 5

Goals: Create In-Text (Parenthetical) Citations and Develop a Thesis

AGENDA

  1. Review Constitution Research Project Assignment and Research Question (5 min)
  2. Review In-text (parenthetical) citations in NoodleTools (10 min)
  3. Develop a "working" thesis and type it into the Noodle Tools Dashboard (10 min)
