Technology at a Glance

At the Morse, we employ:

  • Computer Lab space for collaboration, complete with 2 MakerBot 3D Printers as well as touch screen chromebooks
  • Chromebooks in Grade 3-5 classrooms
  • iPads in Grade JK-2 classrooms
  • Interactive Whiteboards and projectors in classrooms
  • Camera kits with tripods
  • Media-rich library with audio books, access to online encyclopedias, and more!

Acceptable Use Policy

During the first few weeks of school, students review the Acceptable Use Policy for the Cambridge Public Schools and discuss the expected behavior for using technology. This video summarizes some of the key points in the AUP and is presented and discussed with students in grades 3-5. Students in grades JK-2 discuss rules for using technology in a safe and respectful way.

Google Apps for Education

The Cambridge Public Schools use Google Apps for Education as a tool for creating and collaborating as a community. Students in grades 3-5 are introduced to Google Classroom, a virtual classroom where teachers can post assignments, announcements and more! Students also learn about Google Drive apps such as Google Docs, Slides, Sheets. Students in Grade 3 complete a Google Ed course where they learn the basic functionality of several google tools.
