There are many transition activities planned for our 8th graders this year in order to help prepare them to make decisions about High School. This fall there will be a High School Choice presentation in order for our 8th grade students to look at the choices that they have for High School. The schools that will be discussed are: Coventry High School (CHS), Windham Technical School, Cheney Technical School, E.O. Smith Agriculture Program, and Arts at the Capitol Theater Magnet High School, RiverTech, Goodwin Tech, and Great Path Academy. School counselors will also be going into 8th grade classes this year in order to discuss high school. During CNH's advisory, our 8th grade students will complete a Career Key activity, spend time researching various careers, and discussing future goals.

In order to apply to the E.O. Smith ASTE program you need to complete the New Student Registration form. As well as to complete the application packet. For copies of the application packet please see the CNH school counseling office or contact E.O. Smith directly.
Private and Magnet schools all have unique application deadlines and procedures, and it is the responsibility of students and families to gather this information.
*For all Choice Schools In order to ensure that students meet these deadlines, transcript and recommendation requests must be submitted to CNH counselors and teachers at least two weeks prior to the deadline. Students applying to choice schools will participate in the Coventry High School course selection and transition process nonetheless.
*Should you choose to apply to a High School, regardless if it is Private or Public, we will need a release form signed by a parent or guardian.
