Online programs and independent work

Scholastic News is a website we use in the classroom in a group setting. You can access this website with this link https://sn1.scholastic.com

Once at the website select "I am a student" and the log in code is Carleplace19

In the classroom we typically review the title, go over vocabulary and then watch the video. After watching the video we will review some things we learned and then move on to the text. After reading the text and exploring the issue we will answer the questions. Our class has covered the first two issues for March, "Make Way for Duckling" and "My Wild Weather Day." This week we would be covering "Don't Mess with this Dad."

If you would like any additional worksheets for any issues please email me at Prandazzo@cps.k12.ny.us

Enjoy!

Smartyants is an interactive reading website. Our students use this program with their reading teacher Mrs. Plassmann. The student Login is.... https://play.smartyants.com/login

I will be emailing parents individual usernames and log-ins. The site is a great platform for independent work and builds on reading skills.

A game we play during our morning meeting is identifying the 50 states. We use the website

https://online.seterra.com/en/vgp/3285 (it has been helpful for myself to better understand US geography). It can also be a great tool in working on the use of prepositions. For example "Oklahoma is ABOVE Texas"
