Have Fun with Learning at Home 

Hello Peck families, congratulates you and your child(ren) just completed wonderful year of learning!

Though summer is right around the corner, we would like to remind you that learning shouldn't stop because of summer vacation. Take advantage of this time to engage your child(ren) in reviewing skills they've mastered during the school year and also to build on to their prior knowledge. Here you will find resources to get you started with summer learning at home. Please include anyone and everyone who will be helping you with your child(ren): Grandparents, aunts/uncles, older siblings etc.

These resources are to help you keep your child engaged to practice important skills they have mastered and to get ready for the next school year. You can print these worksheets and projects out a week or two at a time and schedule some family quiet work time thought the summer. An adult's help may be needed for some of the science activities. Keep these sessions stress free and fun! And reward your child's work with praise and enthusiasms. Remember, children this age respond better to positive feedback and praise - the main point is for your child(ren) to enjoy learning and to take on new challenges not to get everything "right". Get a head start and create a ROUTINE filled with engaging activities to have so that you can enjoy the summer with your child(ren).

Diviértanse con el Aprendizaje en el Hogar

Hola familias de Peck, ¡felicitaciones a usted ya su(s) hijo(s) que acaban de completar un maravilloso año de aprendizaje!

Aunque el verano está a la vuelta de la esquina, nos gustaría recordarles que el aprendizaje no debe detenerse debido a las vacaciones de verano. Aproveche este tiempo para involucrar a su(s) hijo(s) en la revisión de las habilidades que han dominado durante el año escolar y también para aprovechar sus conocimientos previos. Aquí encontrará recursos para comenzar con el aprendizaje de verano en casa. Incluya a todas las personas que lo ayudarán con su(s) hijo(s): abuelos, tías/tíos, hermanos mayores, etc.

Estos recursos son para ayudarlo a mantener a su hijo interesado en practicar habilidades importantes que ha dominado y prepararse para el próximo año escolar. Puede imprimir estas hojas de trabajo y proyectos una o dos semanas a la vez y programar un tiempo de trabajo familiar tranquilo durante el verano. Es posible que se necesite la ayuda de un adulto para algunas de las actividades científicas. ¡Mantén estas sesiones libres de estrés y divertidas! Y recompense el trabajo de su hijo con elogios y entusiasmo. Recuerde, los niños de esta edad responden mejor a los comentarios positivos y los elogios: el punto principal es que su(s) hijo(s) disfruten aprendiendo y asuman nuevos desafíos, no para hacer todo "bien". Obtenga una ventaja y cree un RUTINA  llena de actividades interesantes para que pueda disfrutar del verano con su(s) hijo(s).
