Students may place as many books on hold as they would like. When your hold arrives, Mr. Price will send an email to your @cps.edu email letting you know to pick up your materials.
All holds will be reserved for 1 week. If your hold is not picked up by the 1 week deadline, your items will be returned to the shelves and/or passed to the next requestor.
The KCP Library does NOT collect fines for overdue books.
Students are responsible for replacing lost and damaged items and will be charged a $15 fee. The library will assume a book is lost if it is not returned after 3 months of its current due date.
*If you have a missing book that was checked out before August 2025, please talk to Mr. Price. You may be eligible to have your replacement fee waived.
Food is NOT allowed in the KCP library. If a student would like to have a snack, they are welcome to step into the hall and finish their food before returning to the library space.
Students eating in the library will receive 1 reminder of the no food policy and be asked to put their snack away. Students who continue to eat in the library will be asked to leave for the rest of the day.
If a student is asked to leave the library for eating twice in one week (or in two back-to-back class periods), a call/email to the student(s) parents/guardian will be made.
Additional Library Norms
Students must have a pass / G-chat signed by a teacher to visit the library during instructional periods. If the student is unable to provide one of these, they will be asked to leave.
Students must have a library lunch pass to access the library space during 4th, 5th, or 6th period. All students without a signup will be asked to leave.
During instructional time, all headphones must be removed from the student's head. All devices (cell phones, laptops, tablets) must be put away unless being used for an in-class assignment.
Clean up your trash and leave the library better than you found it!
Fighting, harassment, and bullying are not tolerated in the library. Failure to respect fellow students, the library space, or staff will result in immediate removal.
