Hi, I’m Emily Everest the physical therapist (PT). My focus as a school-based PT is a student’s gross motor and functional mobility skills. This can look like participating in PE activities and recess, safety when getting around the classroom or school, and working on more independent mobility skills (walking, stair-climbing, wheelchair or other assistive mobility device use, etc). I have lived in Chicago for about 10 years, and have previously lived in Oklahoma, Utah, and Tennessee. I love to travel, to be active, and being an aunt to my nieces and nephews. I am looking forward to this school year and working with you all!!
Hello, my name is Jakub Faron and I'm pleased to be working at Jahn Elementary School. Social Work is not only my passion but it's also a calling. I received my undergraduate degree from Loyola University in the area of International Studies as well as Social Work. At that time, I was employed at a residential treatment facility which inspired me to obtain a Master's in Social Work with a specialization in schools. Recently, I obtained my National School Social Work Specialist Accreditation from the National Association of Social Workers commonly known as NASW. My practice is very client centered. When working with students, families, and communities it is important to meet the client where they are at. My expertise is centered in the areas of trauma informed care, a systems approach, and a strengths based approach. I also have experience in the area of crisis intervention, cognitive behavioral therapies, and working with students from many diverse backgrounds. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, helping others, and seeing my friends. Fun Fact: I have a wonderful cat by the name of Prince that found me on my birthday at the Prince concert. I am looking forward to working with everyone so that we can build and empower our students, school, and the community!
I am starting my 10th school year within CPS and am very excited to be assigned to Jahn School again. I love being part of the school team at Jahn where we can work together to support the academic, social/emotional, and behavioral needs of all of our students. When I’m not at school, I am kept very busy by my 2 sons and cats. My family loves spending time outdoors, watching movies, cooking/baking, playing games, and traveling (when there isn’t a pandemic).
Hi! My name is Cassandra Kowalczyk. Students and staff may refer to me as Nurse K. This is my third year with CPS and I work with Pre-K through 12th grade students. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in the Science of Nursing and am certified to teach. I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, reading, traveling, music, learning new things, and encouraging inclusive environments for everyone to enjoy learning in. This is my first year at Jahn and I am looking forward to a great year! I work at Jahn on Fridays, but am always available through calls and emails.
